Animator's Tree

This is an oddball question, but what kind of tree is the animator's tree supposed to be? Or does it even have a basis other than a tree.
Please, limit speculation. If you know without a doubt, please let me know, but guesses won't really help.
If you're asking "Why does this matter?" or "Why do you want to know?", be assured, I have reasons.
So, please, if you know, reply. If you have guesses, thank you for your interest, but I need a definite answer. Thanks!

Well, it's the tree of life, so maybe look up celtic/norse mythology? I believe yhose are the omes with trees of life, and they might specify the species. I want to say ash, but I am by no means positive.

Probably Yggdrasil, the World Tree from Norse Mythology. That would be my speculation.

Just what kind of a tree is the Tree of Life? Well, that depends on who you ask. For much of the Classical world, it is an oak tree, though ancient Egyptians claimed it was a sycamore or a form of date palm. It is also a palm tree in Assyrian stories, but a cedar in the legends of Native American Indians. In Norse mythology, the tree - known as Yggdrasil - is an ash. The tree has also been associated with olives, figs, and grapes.
Ha, I was right, Yggdrasil IS an ash!
Since much of the SC stuff comes from Norse/Slavic/Celtic stuff, I'd say Yggdrasil the Ash is the best guess for the Animator's tree.

I appreciate the research, but is any of this ACTUALLY this tree of the Animator's? I guess I'm looking for something officially from Grey Area, something they've said somewhere that I've missed or that they've hinted at somewhere.
These are great speculations, but they don't really get me any further. Thanks for everyone's interest!

What makes you think there really is an ACTUAL tree of Animators?
Maybe it's just a tree.

This is...exactly why I'm asking. I DON'T know. Hence, the question. Hence, requesting answers from those who know whether the tree actually has significance, and if so what that significance might be, and aren't speculating.
While this thread won't gain any kind of actual traction, I still hope that a dev might stumble upon this thread and answer it. Or, that someone who has seen something official that I've missed might direct me to the correct answer, if there is one.

Well, in the official animator background there is a line referencing the tree of life, so that's what my speculations are drawn from.
