The time has come... We have to end "spoofing"...

Theoretically you can report via email or the support section of the forum, but this has been done many times with screenshots and multiple people reporting the event. The devs have clearly decided that it is more important to have a large number of people playing whether fairly or not... which may make sense from a business decision standpoint but it does tell us there's not much use sinking a lot of time into playing the game well and trying to build teams. Play a few months or weeks, get to 15, and quit. If that's what they want, all they have to do is to continue being loose on their enforcement of the ToS

Alrighty... so how or whom do we report of spoofers to and is there an topic on spoofers reporting by the way?

Frankly giving them all this attention does nothing but make the problem worse. It feeds their ego. Just like trolls. Our bg doesn't have much of a problem with either. Our solution is simple. Mute and remove and spread the word. I'm of the laid back mindset so agree with what's past is past and have readded trolls who learned quickly how boring this game is with no friends. Players can do more to discourage this then devs. Let the other team know knonw spoofing spots of the player and let them deal with it. Camp the player. Leave wards and catchers galore. If his bg has muted him he'll have no one to turn to.

That said devs do need to do something more. Udid/imei blocks come to mind with a report player for a b or c options. Enough alerts makes the dev check. Hmm harvested in California Toronto and Helsinki in one day. Not likely. Banned. Sorry if it screws over multi user households but they shouldn't have cheated. Dems da breaks

To simply put it: End this GA. I know a bunch of people with one foot out the door, and you and I will lose quality players because of the zero response to GPS spoofing.

I strongly agree. Cheating has no place in this game. I've been playing 3 months and not yet a 15 though I'm doing a lot of spirit missions to get there, and some BG as well as I can. It will sure be more pleasant to battle as a 15. And I wouldn't want spoof cheaters or spies to infest the game.

Wow - I never thought of myself as naive... what a bummer. I've totally gotten into this game and have invested a bunch leveling up, helping bg and lower levels, tolerating trolls and spammers, etc. I knew there were people who had both oj and green accounts (which also sucks), but hacking gps? Argh. I too am about done. i would very much like to know who the spoofers are that "everyone knows who they are" so that i can delete them. give me names! PM me if you don't want to do it publicly.

Gonna throw my support in here. In a game where location is so crucial to the mechanics this is the worst possible form of exploiting. Action needs to be taken by GA. You'll lose a lot more players in the long term by not giving these people the boot than you will by swinging the ban-hammer.

Exactly. GPS exploitation in a GPS game simply shouldn't be allowed. It seems like a no-brainer, but as far as I know, GA hasn't taken any steps toward penalties against spoofing. I don't know about the difficulty of implementing penalties in an iPhone application, but GA should at least address the issue.

There's a whole thread an Arch put together of known and suspected spoofers, but I can't recall who.

The only spoofer I've known to be punished was Joe-Breezy in my BG (Louisiana). He brazenly proclaimed his spoofing for a week or so before his account was shut down by GA. A few days later, however, he came back as JoeBreezy5150 and still plays. Friendly guy, but he knows I don't condone his actions.

I know another case of gps spoofer who got banned on a player's report in the Singapore BG. I was the one reporting, I didn't go berserk on the guy in the forum, I simply reported his ass and in my case, it worked. He came back 2 weeks after that, and he's been keeping a low profile ever since. I have no pb friending him again if he doesn't cheat anymore.

that being said, some greens muted him when he admitted spoofing, but others fed him info on ennemy positions to spoof and drop a beacon to.

As long as GA doesn't make their position on spoofing clear, players will keep fighting over this, wether they're pro or against. we need a official, crystal clear statement to rely on.

They have made their position clear, they just don't enforce it publicly enough.
