The time has come... We have to end "spoofing"...

I think that's the problem-how do we know when it's being reinforced? How do we know if a player has been punished? I haven't seen Kohda/Kohta online in a while, is that because we're just on at different times now, he's been buy, or he's been banned?

I fully agree that the playerbase should also be noted that when an action is been taken against the cheaters.
Make it a public shame aswell as banning, as it was back in the older times.

I'm with HeavyMental, GiantDong, and anyone else who finds spoofing to be unacceptable. I can think of ways, both in the client software and from the server, to detect spoofing behaviour, and to make it a giant hassle forspoofers to get any benefit from it. While it does represent a large amount of work for what seems to be a small benefit, it is a very critical benefit. I've seen countless numbers of people walk away from games and gaming systems because a player was cheating and the people who were charged with enforcing the rules let it go. I myself walked away from a live-action roleplaying group that I'd been a part of for more than a decade, and I had contributed to a rewrite of the mechanics and copy-edited the latest rulebook -- because of one specific cheater who bullied everyone to get his way.
I like this game. I love these people. I know what cheating does to games and the societies that spring up around them. Those of us who are honest have to expend a considerable amount of resources just to make sure we aren't contributing to spoofers ruining the game.
Please act. If you have questions on how to quantify spoofing so that code can identify it, I will be glad to /give you/ what I've worked out.

Well until something is done to stop/hinder these spoofers, we all need to take a united front and openly discuss suspected spoofers along with taking appropriate screenshots etc.

I'm sorry but it's not ok to openly cry fool for SUSPECTED cheaters, even if / when we have screenshots.
some of us wait to be 100% sure before reporting or spreading the word, some others jump on hasty conclusions whenever they think they spotted a cheater. this can only result in endless threads of "you did it", "no i didn't", "anyway your team is doing it too", "but yours do it more" . we need to investigate and be certain before we expose cheaters in the forum, just like what GRoMoD did for kohta / kohda.

Let's be honest. Trying to stop spoofing(or any other cheating) is pointless. All online games suffer from these issues, regardless of platform, and with iOS' increased popularity in mobile gaming, it isn't going anywhere.
If it bothers you that much, your best is to uninstall and move on.

Removing cheaters from your F-list, muting, and simply not giving them any attention in the game as players in a widespread effort most certainly can serve a point. This thread has grown to serve two purposes. 1: Hear what GA has to say about this. 2: Compile a unity among all players on this subject and develop ideas that we can perform ourselves.

I think the earlier posts in this thread have summed up the issue really well. There's no 100% solution, but there are easy technical fixes which can and should be implemented, and which would make spoofing far more difficult. Please, GA, address this!

I fully agree with Heavy, GD and everyone else that support banning spoofers. It has become extremely frustrating and has taken away from the enjoyment of the game. I don't feel development is taking this issue seriously. Take the current campaign for example. It is giving the spoofers 16 ripe locations to cheat from. This has to stop.
