In what radius around the universities are we talking about?
I'm guessing they're talking about the single gateway that bears the university's name by itself, though I've seen universities with multiple gateways for different campuses so you might have to hold all of them. For example, here at the University of Michigan we've got a "University of Michigan" GW, as well as a "University of Michigan - North Campus". There may be one for the Medical Center too, I can't remember and can't go look because the servers are down.

omfg -_- can u whining greens chill the f*** out? this campaign only last for a week not a freaking year!
im not even whining that london universities were excluded out of this list (eventhough london is the city centre with alot more GWs than oxford and cambridge)
This is a Finnish game and not even their university is up on that list.
ALSO Don't the animators have really well known spoofers as well from the project Antartica to project Washington incident? Bottom line IS there are spoofers from both sides! (doesn't that equal out the inequality?)
That being said I am not endorsing spoofing but MAN be realistic about this. Name me one MMORPG game that does not have hackers/spoofers? It's like jailbreaking too .. apple comes out with newest update .. jailbreakers spoofs the newest upgrade .. continuous cycle -_-
Only thing you can do is report to staff like Chadj & Khamos. Even if they are not banned.. the whole SC society knows.. isn't that shameful enough?
And clearly Grey Area have more important priorites like enabling GWs worldwide (still waiting on Malaysia btw =p) and improving server bandwidth which anyone agrees WAYY more important than finding each and every spoofer.

What befuddles me the most is the lack of incentive to controlling these gateways. Sure they incite some big battles, but putting up dominators to control something that you cannot harvest? For stickers?
"We will be rewarding 20 mages randomly with a stack of Academy stickers amongst the team who holds the most Gateways for the longest period of time during all three rounds!"
It's a random drawing too! Why can't you make it where you're awarded maybe 1-5 energy per University that you control per hour! Even then I can get more energy from one Dominator within 34 minutest. Something like Headquarters in Call of Duty could have been implemented.

Hmm Leiden University isn't that big. The is only 1 GW with Leiden university in it. Than you have Leiden City and all other districts of Leiden....

probly right at the universities them selves so id say 0 radius ya need to control the gateways
