i have an idea. i did a quick search, and found this. it's related. but i'm posting it here instead:
http://www.shadowcities.com/forum/topic/68/?page=1#post-194
so here is what i thought on my drive to work this morning...
GA can place geocoins or those little random algorithm number generator security devices in select geocaches. you find them by going on a mission quest in SC when you are nearby. then you enter the code and get a prize... maybe 50 pots or a t-shirt?
also, putting SC related geocoins into geocaches will give SC more exposure to those who already geocache. expanding the user base... any thoughts?

I gave a presentation on Geocaching just last Saturday. I wore my Architect t-shirt. Nobody realized that they were sitting on top of a massive Architect base...
I think a marriage of geocaching and Shadow Cities would be a lot of fun, but at the same time, not every cacher will be able to play SC and not every SC player can geocache. iPods and iPads aren't the best for geocaching, and only the iPhone users will really be able to do both easily.

I think your idea is a great idea, besides it will give me something to do while waiting for my mana to recharge.

This might be a fun project to take on ourselves. We could design an SC trackable coin. The stuff on the Shadow Cities art page is CC-NC so I think we're free use it as long as we aren't making a profit. We can send them out to SC players who are also avid geocachers to get them started moving all over the World.

If you are playing a GPS based game, why not Geocache too?
Great idea. I'd like to help design a coin if possible. I don't have software or anything to do that with though.

While I haven't had the chance to try out geocaching yet, I love the idea of it! Though as Gabriel said, not everybody would be able to partake in this. Maybe if the caches only had items that were not game-related? Like shirts, stickers, etc. That way it wouldn't affect gameplay.

What about custom-made Geocoins?
That's what I meant. I've looked into companies that make custom geocoins and pathtags before. Heck, we're even hosting GeocoinFest 2011 on the other side of Charlotte in October. I should run into several custome coin vendors there. I could research the cost and we could go ahead and start a little coin design contest on here.
