Conquering Gateways

I'm having some difficulties and I don't know if it's because I'm doing something wrong or if it's my level or what. When I go to cloud view, I can see two other neutral Gateways but I can't get to them. I can select them but I can't warp there. They are really close to where I am though. And I don't know how to find enemy gateways also.

The way warp works is that from the ground view, you can warp to anything friendly you see (gateways, dominators, wards, other mages, etc.) by selecting the target, pulling down the casting bar, and casting warp (which looks like an upside down U). From the cloud view, however, you can only warp to beacons; think of them as long-range locators.
If there's a gateway near you without a beacon and outside of your radius in ground view, you can walk there in the real world to get to it in the game world. If the gateway is unclaimed, though, and you're still in that neighborhood, you can drop a dominator to conquer the gateway for your side. (If it's an enemy gateway, you'll have to walk around and find all the Dominators in the neighborhood and destroy them one by one in order to be able to take the gateway.)

Oh okay. But don't you need a wi-fi connection to access the game? I can't get that by simply walking to the location.

Wi-Fi or a mobile connection. If you are playing with an iPod or Wi-Fi only iPad, then moving can be a bit tricky.

not if you have what I have :p
I have an ipod touch 3g, but I made it into some sort of an iphone :p
I use roqyBT4 together with a bluetooth gps receiver for my location and I use a C Peel for mobile internet, texting and calling :p (you'll need a jailbreak for both of them)
this has cost me less then €100 and I now have a good and cheap iphone :p
