AWESOME post!! i heartily agree with almost every point except:
Air Spirits: if no one is at the beacon and you're standing there alone.. i consider them "fair game". If there is ANYONE else there then i'll ask.. but just owning the beacon doesn't give you passive rights to spirits when you're not there. and sending its owner a PM so they can swoop in and take it isn't fair to me either when i've been beacon hopping for XXX time looking for the spirit for my mission.
Truces: just because you have a truce with a neighbor doesn't stretch that truce to the whole team. if i make an agreement with my <insert foreign national> neighbor to not blow up his house, the US Govt is not obligated to honor that because i don't speak for the whole nation. i firmly believe if you want to honor a local truce don't put up a home beacon. If you beacon up from an ABC/AHC you are asking people to come into your home to defend it.. yeah that means they might unknowingly trample on your neighbor's yard.. in the heat of battle those people are helping you, dont look a gift horse in the mouth. if that's a big concern for you don't put up a beacon. We shouldn't be expected to keep track of each individual beacon owner's list of local rules. that being said, i feel that common courtesy should be extended whenever possible.

Here's a new point of manners to add. Your username.
Your username is your digital "face". It's how you present yourself to people and how you want them to react to you. So, usernames like DrShagNasty, JewKilla, SuMadre, and SuckItNow (all real usernames) are going to instantaneously alienate people. Some people will ruthlessly pick on you in chat and if they're on the opposing team, raid you incessantly, just based on an inflammatory username.
Would you introduce yourself that way in real life? Then you shouldn't do it here. Please go make a new account with a real username and start over. Have some class!

But then, what gives you, or anyone else outside the development team, the right to tell me, or anyone else, how to enjoy their time on a free, or otherwise, application?

there will always be people who go about things a different way. no on has a right to say what you do, but realize you are responsible for your own actions.
in other words, she's not telling you what to do. rather, she's advising us as players some etiquette that may make the game more enjoyable.

don't take it so hard. just like the tip from a mage, it's a suggestion. take it or leave it.
