Arachne Weaver Discussion

Thats because its Shadow... not Air.
Feel like pointing me to the official post that states this? The point is: In the overworld, its symbol is very clearly an Air Dannan symbol. Even assuming it was "Shadow" (which feels like an odd term in a world where the "shadow world" is standard, so all spirits would theoretically be shadow) it doesn't change the fact of what the overworld symbol is. Or the fact that the symbol when captured isn't a dannan symbol at all, so it feels even more odd in that respect.

I have, just like gorath, rage quit till the spider is gone.
Excellent, more fun for the rest of us.
And I assumed that from the update called "Shadow Weaver's Anguish", the spirit is Arachne Weaver, so it leads you to believe that it is a Shadow spirit of some sort. I hear you that it's symbol on the ground is white, and ***, but apparently it isn't air because, as stated, it doesn't fulfill Air quests.

And my point was to clarify it was, indeed, not an Air, despite the symbol. But I highly doubt it's "Shadow" since it's the shadow world. It may be a particularly dark spirit, but yeah. Ultimately your post came across as arrogant and condescending, with no proof behind it. Be careful with how you use information from assumptions.

First of all,
I hate the quitters, ragers, whiners and such lowlife bastards that bitch about everything... then to the post...
It took less than a day for ppl to catch on and figure out what it does and at what stages, and even with ignorant people hitting while it sits and healing it the Arachnid is still downed and what I've clocked today the fastest kill I've seen has been under 2 minutes of calling a beacon up.
1) get out of glitter
2) hit when it roams around with normal legs
3) heal yourselves when it is sitting down or wriggling his legs
4) DO NOT ATTACK when he is sitting down or wriggling his legs
5) Sit down, the Z heal him
6) Wriggling legs, the Z are reflected back at you
7) on occasions he casts gazillion little spirits that attack everyone.
8) IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE nor HARD to kill
9) Quit whining and figure things out and learn to play, thank you

Each spirit
Each spirit is called its type right in its name. The name of the Spirit is SHADOW SPIRIT OF HOUSE DANNAN, just like others are called Air Spirit of House Inrik (an Air spirit), or Earth Spirit of House Tiermes (an Earth spirit). So how are we not to assume it is a "Shadow Spirit" with a name like that? Why should I be careful about using information from that assumption? That would be like reading a description of a house "It is the Yellow House on the Corner of 5th and High", assuming the house is Yellow, and you saying I shouldn't assume that.
Remove head from sphincter, then post.

See, here's the problem. You didn't use the "Shadow Spirit" in the details in backing up your statement. You directly said you assumed it from the update information which never actually states it that way.
Had you stated that it was in the spirit detail in game, it would have gone differently.
On another note: Apparently before updating to the Air Spirit version, Air spirits also were called "Shadow Spirit" so it could just be what they do when there isn't a proper description, or it could actually be a Shadow spirit.
The last part of your post was also entirely uncalled for, spoken like a true brat. Good day.

In that you would be correct sir, apologies, something in the way you put your post made me angry and I posted in haste and anger. I believe i should take my own advice there as well.
As for the type of spirit, I do well believe it to be "Shadow", considering the name of the Spirit in game, yes. I thought I had mentioned that in my previous post as well (adding to why i was angry) but I did clearly leave that part out.

And as a perhaps unnecessary but hopefully debate-ending $0.02, the spirit still shows up as a Shadow Spirit of House Dannan (with an air ground symbol) even after an update. It is definitely 100% shadow and not an un-updated air.
I still don't like the lag I get from these things though. Carries over until I'm getting banished by Koschei in my own home, which I NEVER had problems with before.

Sorry if I've missed this somewhere, but has someone noticed any rhyme or reason to when you're attacked?
Lowest Damage:
70-80dmg
I suspect these are the low-level spirits
Frequently happens, if not constant (up to 2-3 low level spirits attacking at once)
Mid Damage:
350-600dmg
Spider's regular attack?
Often occurs (2-3 times every couple minutes)
High Damage:
1000-1500dmg
Spider's critical attack?
Happens rarely (1-2 times per encounter)
I'm mostly interested in knowing what prompts the Arachne Weaver to attack you. I've often been only an observer (aka, waiting for mana regen) when I get hit with all three categories of damage as listed above. Yes, I've been hit 1000+ dmg just for standing around.
Thoughts?
