No, I saw SmilingJack with one early yesterday morning, within hours of the update. Never mind. He has the Arachnid Slayer one, not Master.

MrReas had one too, him and Thornus were beasting at the rate of a new spider about every 5-8 minutes

I got one around 5am CST

what are you supposed to fight to get the badge?

you gotta participate in a spider fight. if you stick around long enough to see it get banished and you help out alot you may be one of the people who are credited with the banish (you dont have to be the person with the final hit)

Short answer: Yes, if most people there know what they are doing.
