To anyone who feels the Animator/Architect population is unbalanced...

Go play another game. Seriously. Stop whining.

As a mage who started in June when the game went live in the U.S., it took California Animator's a couple months to come close to even think of winning our state/BG/region. It takes work you pansies.

There's heavy imbalances in multiple states and countries around the world in-game... just like in the real-world (imagine that!).

I've noticed the people who complain the most of game population imbalances tend to never be seen on the front line of mage warfare in-game.

For the gritty Architects and Animators who constantly come up with new tactics and strategies I for one would like to thank you for making this game FUN.

For everyone else, go back to Farmville it suits you better.

The game ebbs and flows, but unbalances tend to be exaggerated when there's a flood of new players, as there just was from SC hitting the iTunes bestsellers list. I'm already noticing it calming down--we went from losing 1/3 rounds in Michigan to losing every round by ~40k, to back down to losing by a not-so-embarrassing amount.

I think some points of balancing are pertinent (the idea that Animators might get a boost to numbers solely because they're always on top, so randomize it, for example), but on the whole, the game ebbs and flows. Architects used to be on top. Now it's Animators. But we'll come back...

The way people tend to word the argument of imbalance is that it's only a numbers game. By way of harvesting and energy-gathering. In terms of rounds YES, however it's a direct correlation to how limited their imagination of playing videogames is.

For example, Sweden recently turned green after constantly losing round after round by 10K+. They reached out to other allies world-wide and we responded in force. Hammering any and all Architects in their Top 10. We hunted them like animals making a clear statement that "YES, we see your leaderboard and we're coming for YOU". We like to make examples of those orange who would break the Top 10 and hunt them for sport.

Sweden has been green since. We intend to repeat this process of teamwork, information gathering (no spies, just good ol' fashioned local Animators gathering intel) and battlefield tactics.

You can keep your spiders, sigils, and junk. What we want? The entire world map to one day be green, now and forever.

Oooo so dramatic, self-aggrandizing and trolly. SOMEDAY THE WORLD WILL BE BATHED IN ARCHITECTS BLOOD AND WE SHALL FEAST ON THEIR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN. LOL

I love it--you're like the George Lucas of Shadow Cities! Beautiful execution! You're number one!!

Not the quantity, just the quality.Maybe a lot of us animator's suck. We need more practice. 'Nuff said.

We don't suck, we just don't work as teams so much.

Yes! Thanks Sempre, the thread did works.

You live in San Diego you say? I hope around La Jolla or UCSD. We've been needing a new target since WhoDat cries about violently hurting people all the time.

LOL I'm not much of a target. I don't play seriously enough for someone like you.

you think you had anything to do with my energy total? thats a faulty assumption.

as Gabriel said the popuation ebbs and flows..

a bunch of new players are more likely to stick around if they meet a bunch of other new players on the same team (say animators)... if Ani's are winning or at least a heated battle, it increases the odds they'll stay even more. after a week or two that lead will increase and Ani's will appear to be invincible.. any new player on the arch's team is alone and likely wont stick around because in his experience of 2 weeks "ani's always win and its no fun" after 2 more weeks of Ani's crushing Arch's several Ani's get bored and quit.. coinciding with several new Arch's starting up.. and the cycle is reversed.

The game is a social one and you must always keep in mind group social dynamics which are incredibly cyclical. like the weather, if you merely wait a moment and it'll change
