"Untitled"
Chapter 1: "The Mark"
"The Mark", it's what separates us mages from the common people who roam this world defenseless. It is the special gift that is given to us, it's what we do with that ability that makes the difference.
"The Mark" is a dormant force that rests in the select few like us. It shows itself in times of great need and danger. How did I find mine?, you may ask? It was a simple jog through the park. When all of the sudden I felt the earth beneath my feet shook. I found myself falling to the ground because of the vines that tangled themselves on my feet.
The next thing I saw was an Earth Tiermes spirit, Huldra. It casted a spell on me, to state the obvious, it hurt. The next thing I knew was I felt something flowing through me and I noticed my thumbprint was glowing. The luminescent light spread through my whole palm. It was at that time that a beam of light was shot from my hand and blasted the Huldra.
It was at that moment I have figured out that I had become a mage, and that these spirits was a threat to the society and had to be dealt with. I have heard of an organization of mages that harvest the energy of these spirits to benefit the society by creating these futuristic machines. Well I better finish this run and head to the Architects and become an Architect's apprentice.
