in light of the current (lack of) beacon situation, do you look forward to or dread the upcoming us-bg changes?

Dread. Hate. Dislike. Loathe....

Personally, I was already having trouble being motivated to play with the beacon list changes, and the most active players in my BG all trying out new games as a result. Now, if I recruit new players, the chances are very good that they won't even be in my BG.

Hardly seems worth the effort.

I'm starting to calm down now, but I still am going to go with "dread."
I can see how it might be fun but... This is a location based game. Removing location based features makes no sense.

wait, so currently i can only see a few beacons from within my battlegroup, right? and they want to make the entire country one battlegroup? gimme a break. why let us cast beacons at all? why not just put up default beacons that everyone can see and dictate where we play?

Absolutely hate.

dunno yet. It seems to work fine in VfW, and this is a good week to try it out since so many Americans are traveling anways. I guess we'll see how it goes.

Players are dropping out of my BG due recent changes.

This game seems to be at a turning point in popularity as does GA's credibility.
I love this game and the people in my community here. I dread the worst...

I am strongly against the changes. Teh developers seems to forget that local BGs develop their won strategies, alliances and friendships to deal with atttacks and neighboring BGs. Now we will be thrown into a large pool of random players. I may not even see the players I have depended on for so long ever again. Also, we nurture younger players in our BG by checking for newcomers. Now I will not have time to scroll to the 1000 spot. Team chat will be inundated with banter, blocking out questions from starting mages. Not happy at all. This is a big mistake. If anything, create regional BGs to consolidate the smaller ones, e.g. MD/DC/VA

I am ok with it as a once in a while curveball. After all, it is always fun to shake things up, and personally I find that battlegroups can get too cliquey if you're not - as I'm not - on chat all the time. However, given the bcn list changes last week I think this is a case of poor timing on GA's part.
