Introducing Regional United States Battlegroups

The energy accumulation doesn't have to be even between the different BGs. I'm not sure why that seems to be a goal. Keiri's set up makes more sense regionally than GA's, so I hope they look at that.
What's more important than energy distribution is green/orange distribution. Example, PA orange ALWAYS gets stomped... simply too many green players (relatively). If they are pairing PA with other states that also always go green, it's a huge mistake. Increased competition will make the game more fun and more popular. Also, the more BGs the better... increases value of it being regional plus it's nice to have it be close... it's a distant feeling having people in your BG that are 1000 miles away... I know we make friends with them anyways, but our energy gathering needs to be a limited regional effort.
Order of priority for creating these BGs should be 1.) Regional 2.) Green/Orange Balance, then 3.) Energy distribution

I like kieries split better as well, regionally and culturally it at least makes sense. My Midwest/mountain bg might as well be a random super bg made permanent. I'll give it probably a 2 round Chance before I walk but I have to say I'm really disappointed that this is the best solution that could be found for a problem that didn't need to exist in the first place.
@Gabriel: it's true Canada is asvwide as the us but their population is only a fraction of ours.

Can we get a state chat? That would be a cool addition to this. I know this would keep mr playing.

Once again, withholding judgement until we’re underway, but the Midwest/Mountain BG seems like it may be unworkably huge (I agree w/Seldon)

I for one am more than willing to try this, benefit of the doubt. My BG is extremely small and gets boring. Hopefullyl the balance will be good.

Midwest and Mountain states together? That's all FOUR continental US timezones crammed into one giant battlegroup (EST, CST, MST, and PST). I'm not looking forward to this mega region. I don't see how the playing experience for Midwest-Mountain players will be all that different than the giant national battlegroups.

CA BG is huge on its own as well. GA I don't know what you guys are thinking with doing this BG system. You are making many of my good and close friends quit. Please reconsider this change. Put small states together, leave the big BGs alone.

I keep coming back to this. Grey Area, what you've done for Midwest and Mountain is create a giant, essentially US-wide battlegroup spanning all four time zones. I don't have any reasonable guesses for why you would have done this, so here are some unreasonable ones:
1. You think Michigan and Nevada are within easy driving distance
2. You took all the states you never learned about in Finnish high school and tossed them in one battlegroup, figuring we'd never heard of them either
3. You're mad at my posts, so you decided to punish me by keeping me in an all-US battlegroup
4. Your maps of Europe and the US aren't to scale with each other and you haven't caught on yet
I'm trying to stay polite here, but this is stupid. What this looks like to a player from those areas is massive disrespect and ignorance about our country.
Yeah, right, this is one "region":
