Aarni – Likely a shortening of Aarnikotka, the Finnish word for Griffin. As I'm not sure if the Aarnikotka is any different from the Roman Griffin, I'm leaving it under Finnish Folklore because of the language. Also an avant-garde metal band from Finland.

thanks Lakuja! I'll look into it. some of these I have yet to finalize a sweep and solid story for.

it was actually suggested in the other thread as a combination of two words. I'll look into it more.

Awesome collection of info here. Being exposed to unfamiliar mythologies is just another benefit of playing this game a bit too obsessively.

sorry to necro. been busy in rl lately, but been really trying to bring it together within the week. my hope is to show the mythological side to the spirits we catch in the game.

Dannan is finalized and the Baldr legend has been brought back. Drioma, Inrik and Tiermes will be released within the week.
