I think we should have four teams because the game, as many mages know, is getting boring. I believe if we had 4 teams, it would spark much more rivilary. Also, on certian campaings, GA could team the teams, 2v2.

Its a little late to shock the game like that, but hey, I'm not a game designer. I, personally, feel that adding more academies would be a great idea if implemented well, and could add more depth to the game. It might also help to bring the themes of the campaign back to prominence.

I do agree that an odd number of teams (3 or 5) would be more interesting.
As for how to implement, I think that allowing higher level players (say 7-9 and above) to switch to a new faction would make an interesting way of changing things up a little...
Then they'd also have reason to convert local players...
Lastly, faction specific abilities would make a nice addition.
Something like 'physical binding' - doubles endurance but cuts you ability to warp...

The options to switch faction would make a huge difference to how battles between them are fought.
