well in light of a few things that have gone on in my real life and that in the game.
I am currently debating on weither or not i should keep playing shadow cities.
reasons of which are:
1. barely anytime
2. no wifi at home anymore, work wifi is unreliable, and when im with my boyfriend. The thought of casting aside my leasure time with him all for a game is very unappealing.
3. more and more of the people i talk to are quiting every day...making my game play less enjoyable.
4. some players take the game to sereously and take out their frustrations on me, an i am for the most part done with it.
5. the reliabilty of the app is lacking, it constently crashs, erases friends randomly off of ur list, lags like crazy, and is just a pain in my butt.
6. am low lvled still.
reasons to stay:
1. i enjoy the game play aside from the varis issues it may have.
2. i have friends who have decided to contiue playing the game who id miss.
3. i enjoy meeting new people and helping whoever i can.
4. i have put alot of money in to the game.
5. i have gotten decently far and need to lvl up to the highest lvl.
but none the less, i may quit. Ill prob know in a week.

In the end, only you can make this decision. My only advice is that if the game is no longer fun, it becomes a task and is no longer a game.

This issue is related to large friend lists. In some cases as when sending a private message the friend list isn't fully uploaded to the client and thus the app isn't able to find the friend you are searching for though they indeed are still on your list. The problem isn't on the private messages in this case but needs work on our part with the friend list handling.
Friends are not actually erase off the list. This is for PM. I suspect there is a similar issue for the other friend list problems. Anyways, I hope you stay, just don't put any more money into it.

I very much agree with this perspective. It can be quite easy for us to over indulge in hobbies and activities we feel great passion towards, such as gaming. Over time, this can lead to burnout often resulting in some really unhealthy gameplay behavior.
From my personal observations, stress created by this type of situation is often heightened in social gaming.
In any case, while we are always sorry to see anyone leave the shadow for any reason, each of us here believe strongly that personal well-being should always take priority over any other matter. It's partly for this reason that accounts do not expire, so mages can always feel the freedom to come and go without the added pressure of potentially losing progress.

I am seriously thinking of quitting as well. I cannot keep track of how many times I have used a pot in a battle with a spider, another mage, war, or even with a spirit just to have Shadow Cities' horrible server crash and for me to have used the pot for nothing. We of course do not get it back and any type of attempt to contact tech support is a joke. If this game is supposed to be fun then they are a few updates behind.
