Gateway to Domination - Harvest or Lay Waste

Leaders of both Academies ramp up their efforts to dominate the energies of the shadow by attempting to gain total control over all known gateways. While the struggle to control magic reaches new heights, and brings about new perils, many mages also recognize the increased potential for individual power. How will changes in the ‘Gateway to Domination’ campaign affect the path you walk upon? Will you seek out new levels of power, or simply seek to lay waste to the powers sought by your enemies?

The 'Gateway to Domination' campaign will begin Monday, February 27 at approximately 4:00 AM PST and will run for one full week. Individual rewards will be provided to top contributors at the end of each round and total energy gains can be tracked on the leader board. You can also view the results of each campaign and round on our global battlegroup campaign page.

During the 'Gateway to Domination' campaign Animator High Command and Architect Battle Control have both increased their support for their teams by summoning dominators under their control. Mages can expect to see enemy dominators wherever they warp, as we introduce this new experimental content feature with the campaign.

Animator High Command (AHC) and Architect Battle Control (ABC) will summon dominators to gateways that are either neutral, or controlled by the opposing team. These unique dominators will behave like any other dominators except that they can be harvested by anyone from the same team who appears within physical proximity of the dominator.

The same rules that apply to regular dominators, such as recharging, health values, harvesting, as well as energy & experience gains, will also apply to these new Academy summoned dominators.

This is boring, all i have to do is keep leaping back and forth between 2 gateways and i get unlimited doms. Maybe a cooldown needs to be initiated.

You don't even need two gateways. warp to a neutral gw, kill the enemy dom, put up your own doms for instant harvest, destroy own dom, warp to same gateway, repeat. No strategy, no interaction, no risk, no challenge. The hps of the enemy doms are determined by the level/strength of the mage doing the warping, so, you abuse the system by having a low level alt doing the warping. The new rules disrupt hidden beacons (an advantage for defense) and long range leap frogging for raids, since dominators will appear in CV. They also make it near impossible to interrupt the energy buff for an enemy. So instead of introducing any new strategies, you killed existing ones and elevated alt-farming to a rule sanctioned way of winning.

There's a good idea in this mess somewhere, but I think it's getting buried by the sheer obnoxiousness of the academy doms. The absolute certainty of their spawning is far overkill, but could make a more enjoyable experience if it was or appeared more random. Let's have it appear only once in say every 20 warps, or once in 100 spell casts of any type. How about a prerequisite that an AH/BC already be in the area, if we won't be decreasing the spawn rate, to show High Command o Battle Control taking a more active interest in an area than just summoning a beacon. Or how about a High Command or Battle Control orb that comes down the beacon and claims neutralized gateways? Make it useless offensively, but Weaver strength as far as HP.

There's a lot you can do with the concept of Academy doms. This... this is just annoying. And I'm seeing too many people I respect opting to sit out this week rather than deal with the monstrosity the idea has unleashed.

This idea completely removes the team aspect and the need to warp to friends in trouble. I dislike it greatly.

This is one of the worst things that could have happened, my base looks like an orange garbage dump.

Please get rid of this by round end or campaign end at the very latest. And try to implement code to get rid of existing leftover doms when they are removed. Thanks.
