Academic Pride - Banners of Conviction

As leaders of the two Academies work to gain control over all shadow energy, strategies toward victory remain ever-changing. With less emphasis placed on controlling each known energy gateway, Architects and Animators instead begin to focus their attention on dominating gateways of particular interest and value. Only through great conviction and total unity under a single banner can either side hope to be victorious over the uncertain tomorrow.
The 'Academic Pride' campaign will begin Monday, March 5 at approximately 4:00 AM PST and will run for one full week. Individual rewards will be provided to top contributors at the end of each round and total energy gains can be tracked on the leader board. You can also view the results of each campaign and round on our global battlegroup campaign page.
During the 'Academic Pride' campaign, the newly introduced Animator High Command and Architect Battle Control dominators will summon more rarely as they now appear only close to your physical location in the game.
As before, the same rules that apply to regular dominators, such as recharging, health values, harvesting, as well as energy & experience gains, will also apply to these new Academy summoned dominators.

UGGGGGGGGH...ok will try this again, but being in a city with many gateways nearby, this will remain the same sort of nightmare as last week!

So what's the point to them now? The only reason for them seems to be to negate raiding for missions. Why do that?

This week you should see much less of the ABC and AHC dominators as they won't be appearing anymore when warping or jumping through beacons. Our intention is also to randomize the ABC & AHC further in the coming weeks.

I don't really get this change, you remove the fact that people need to clean up after raids (although the actual concept of raiding is not interesting anymore due to the free energy given by these abc/ahc doms), and then you also encourage the type of play that alt farming is associated with?

the abcd/ahcd are truly annoying. I'm not alt farming. I have only one account.
Please consider to drop them again and focus on fixing the crash/lag problems. They make people quit...

The explanation given on FB was that they added these doms to help players who don't have nearby enemies. In other words, GA is worried about player retention in cases where the players are isolated. I don't personally think this is a good solution (to anything), but it's useful to know what the actual motivation was.

Ummm... By "Newly Introduced" Do You Mean These AHCs Will Keep Appearing After The Campaign Is Over?

The reason why players do not like them is because missions such as:
Liberate
Wanton Destruction
Destroy 3 dominators
Harvest 100
Harvest 30
1/2 of Eliminate a Stronghold
Are too easily completed in one's own backyard. Players have even changed their stats to minimal hitpoints just so they can warp around and destroy their own spawned dominators for easy energy as they always come in full of energy.
A solution would be to only have these "dominators" spawn at low levels, such as below 6. or have them NOT count towards missions.
Players do not like these doms littered all over their bases.
