Mana ad for old players

Make it a setting. People who want to deal with the clutter and hassle of ads to get free mana can turn them on; and people who don't, can turn them off. Then everyone has equal opportunity.

I agree with having equality in all accounts however from what I have seen of the"free" mana ads they are ads for WONGA(please correct me if I am wrong) who are part of the only industry to be profiting out of the recession as they lend money to anyone regardless of credit rating(and more importantly ability to repay) by extorting massive interest payments out of those who can ill afford it -payday(or giro-day) loans.
Also the Wonga ad gives free mana once when you d/load their app.
I am thankful that my version of SC( d/loaded in March) is one of the few apps not to have annoying ad banners on the bottom of the screen that seem to get pressed just as you are trying to throw that last WC before you get bannished.
I aplaud your sentiment Ari but have to look at the downside, no-one gives "owt for nowt"(anything for nothing for those very bright people that have English as a 2nd,3rd,4th or 5th language)
I think that the missions whilst I have been playing are giving less free Mana away and that is the trend SC will follow as GA are a business at the end of the day.

There should be only two options:
-Everyone have the mana ad
-No one has the mana ad
Otherwise it is unfair
Princess, I agree this is the way to promote fair play.
However, after reading the others' posts, I would rather stick with my belief which is let players themselves to choose since not everyone wants the ads in the game.
To elaborate my previous post about the setting like Shekkara has mentioned and different version. Old players shall able to get mana ads in new version of SC while those don't want to have it can keep the old version. Besides, this can applies to new players too.
For new players who don't want to have mana ads, in fact, they can downgrade their SC app. However, I don't recommend to remove the ads this way as the lag and crash problem on the last version is quite severe. You may no longer able to hunt spider or something...

Shekkara is right
Equal opportunity. Players can choose, like harvest or not, going to spider or not, etc.
Now we have to different category of players and this is not right.
The point is fair play and equal opportunity.
Then it's up to the player use it or not.

I totally agree and I want to add another comment.
We continue to talk about fair play and eliminate cheating, etc.. but the ads are against all this.
If cheating is defined as a unique advantage ... What better example of mana ads?
Compared to an old account:
- Fast recharge of mana
- Avoids the use of pot
- The realm values grow faster, creating a further distortion
- More mana = more available energy gained, the rankings are distorted and thus the premiums mana pot
Or for all or for none

How long do you have to play to be considered "Old"?
I've played this game for 7 months and I still get that ad.

I didn't read entire thread, but....I'd consider my depth mage pretty old. not as old as some, but way before the ads. 8 months now. I get the add from time to time... I dont thing it's completely restricted to new players.

It's not about how old is your player considering time
With "Old" we are referring at players with or without mana ads.
This because mana ads introduce a big arbitrary advantage and thus create two separate category of players.
Mana ads for all or for no one
Fair play please
