The standards for banning must be reviewed and revised. The mages I know who were recently banned have invested much time and energy, and probably money, into their accounts, and to my mind have done nothing warranting the wholesale destruction of their investments. When added to the irritations and frustrations of frequent game crashes, lag issues, and disappearing spiders and such, SC becomes less and less appealing. As have many players, I am placing protest beacons around Helsinki. So far a truce there has held and Animators and Architects are both joining in this effort. When last I was there, I'd say there were hundreds of beacons and other structures.

I don't know very well Preacherman and whitewizard but I've seen both in a lot of war, spider etc. and I am sure that they aren't cheater! First of all Marcomec...he is a good player and also a great friend, is he who made me love this game and I am truly grateful! I can vouch for all of them!

@Chad, surely you must think something is up with the program that picks up this spoofing. These players that have been banned are longest serving and most respected mages. Something has to be wrong somewhere.

I don't know Preacherman or whitewizard well, but the others I do and vouch for completely.
And leaving aside the question of whether anyone cheated or not, would it be to hard to have a warning system? Send any player being considered for banning an email to please stop doing whatever they may be doing. Or not... It would make it hard for people not doing anything to stop doing it

Sorry, Chadj. That's CYA language and if it were JUST the bans, maybe I'd accept it, but there are so many other problems with the game, I'm going with NOT ACCEPTING the CYA language's "explanation."

the players that have gotten banned arent cheats and the community knows it. we've been able to find cheaters far better than GA has. When 100 people say its not right and only 1 person (your software) says all those people are wrong GUESS WHAT THE ONE PERSON IS WRONG! sorry GA but this is a HUGE F- Up.

All we are willing to reveal regarding the individual specifics of the recent actions, is that those who have had their accounts closed as a result of location abuse, used an exploit to circumvent the game's intended restrictions and limitations on numerous occasions, including after the posting of our Exploits and Cheating in Shadow Cities FAQ.
A game bug or crash will not cause our systems to indicate abusive behavior, though account sharing and remote harvesting, as described in the aforementioned FAQ can and will.

Tools used to detect location abuse are flawed and buggy at best! The simple fact remains that GPS locations, cell triangulation data, and wi-fi signals can have errors and give a false location.. So basically what your saying is that it doesn't matter if someone NEVER cheated in ANY way at all, your tool can still red flag someone and lead to a ban because of false data. GA needs to take a closer look at its tools before banning anyone else
