Diminishing Energy Idea

So I know a ton of people are gonna bitch and say this idea is stupid, but here it is. Less energy the more you gain. Here's the logic...not all of us can play for an ENTIRE DAY at a time. For everyone else it seems like their contribution of 500 points is a drop compared to the people breaking 5k. So maybe either less energy gains the more you earn, or based on the leader boards, or something like that. Really, it wouldn't effect what team won or who was where on the leader boards, but it would make things FEEL more even and maybe encourage people to try harder, instead of thinking "well my small amount of points aren't worth much compared to those guys, so F it"

I suppose it depends on why you're playing the game. Are you playing to enjoy it for what it is and can be, or are you just playing to see your name on the top of the boards? People who put in the more time, working hard, should be recognized for that effort. I get the point, I regularly rake in about 1.4k in a round, mostly through harvesting. When I heard the good players top 5k, though, my first thought was "I guess I have a lot of work to put in, now."

Really the idea isn't to change leaderboard ranking. The idea is just to make things "appear" more even. When the other team has 15,000 more points than you do, it's disheartening, especially I'd think to new players. Who wins and who's #1-100 wouldn't change, but it would make it look like you weren't so far behind and maybe make people try harder instead of thinking screw it till next round.

The false expectation that a team won't have to work hard, though, could be just as bad. I'd be furious if I was catching up quickly, then found myself making less and less progress as I put in more work.

Wouldn't this distort the balance even further if the other team was substantially smaller? The trend in these kinds of situations seem to be that in smaller teams active individuals take a larger role in the teams scoring. By lowering their score your system would make the gap even bigger.
