How many players actually move in physical space?

Do most players just use beacons to get into the action, or do they spend much time actually physically moving to nearby locations in order to play? I'm curious as to how most people play the game.

Obviously, someone out in East Jesus can't do much physical movement to encounter any targets of interest, but what about people in more populated areas?

I usually just stick between home and work since both have enough gates to get all my doms used. If I'm out and about I'll check in here and there to see if there's anything around but I've never gone out for a drive hunt.

I have a harvest location near where I live which I can harvest if I'm somewhere else in town (small area). So I use a beacon to get home and harvest. I use another beacon if I find a good spirit spot, say for Inriks which aren't near me. That way I can cover missions more easily.

I'm tethered to wireless, so I can't do much physical moving. I do check wherever I find a hotspot, though.

I went on a long walk Sunday morning in an effort to find the ultimate dom hiding spot. It was promptly found. But hey, great exercise.

If you drive around to play this game, shoot yourself. Bike or walk. Isn't it bad enough we use a giant electronic infrastructure to play our game of Capture the Flag?

I've walked. It let me take down a nearby enemy farm. Then I logged out. Then when he came back, I logged back in, and BOOM. And repeat. I got my exercise and trolling in at the same time.

There's nothing like the satisfaction of getting real-world exercise and virtual destruction accomplished in one fell swoop. :-)

I live in Washington DC and do a fair amount of walking around to other gateways in the course of my day just based on my normal travels. I have my "home" gateway which I control, and there is an Animator who lives to the south of me, one gateway away. We can only reach each other by walking/driving. I make a point of taking out all his stuff everytime I pass by

agreed; there's a new Animator to the south of me...it'd be absurd to drive there, but it's just close enough to make me walk the dogs a second time in a day.

Oh, how nice. I do the same with my local Architect. :-)
