Suggestion: boss spirits / other events

I would be surprised if this has not been suggested before, but just in case: how about some form of events?
For example, boss spirits (spirit lords?) that hit hard, whom it takes a lot of mages working together to defeat. Perhaps even both sides banding together to combat a mutual threat.
Another event could be a spirit incursion, wherein hostile spirits attack a high traffic area.

The idea of large amounts harvesting attracting storms of aggresive spirits is interesting. It would balance the game without giving the loosing team a direct advantage, sort of like the team superbeacons. The end result is the same, but it would "feel" more "fair".

I also like the idea of aggressive spirits.. Might be easier to pull if they could only attack summoned stuff on sight though.. Some kind of "Spirits prefer the statu quo".. But then again, might be overly frustrating to log back just to see all your stuff as been destroyed..

Another suggestion, probably already said but.. : Instances where players could go wherever the spirits come from. Might be a good place to put the spirit bosses of the OP.. An interresting twist to it could be to have the portal to those instances spawn randomly in the world and for a very short time.. So it would be hard to have a large group of people coordinating to enter it..

Since we're not playing for loot like in the common dungeon games, it might be interresting to find some kind of reward to enter it and clear the instances. Bonus energy, special medals or maybe rare icons and orbs (of course, adding more than bragging rights to those would make it even more worthy)... New skins for your summons...

Of course, when designing those kind of events, devs must consider the value of the reward versus the greatness of the adventure. I personnally think those instances should give a hard time to every players (and I'm thinking old 8bit games hard here..) Where clearing even one room for a group of mages under lvl 15 would be an accomplishment. I also think that spirits should attack mages on sight (we're on their territory after all..), and every mages banished would be ejected of the instance...

So.. Sorry for the wall, wasn't thinking I'd make it that long.. And as I said earlier, sorry if the idea already been brought.. I'm not really a forum rat, searching for previous posts..

Oh yes, I want that Inrik spirit hide (which I crafted after z:ing the boss) on my orange ball icon, and whenever another Inrik spirit comes into view, it will automatically attack me for being its kinslayer. So if I want to conduct business with my hide on, I should beware of areas held by Inrik. The option would be to shed my hide-cloak (until I craft a new one from a new boss), be safe from the Inrik, but then I would have nothing to brag about.

It might also create interesting situations, where friends/enemies blast spirits in the area only to be (randomly) replaced by hostile ones (for you).
